Managing an advanced marketing automation system like Marketo involves ongoing updates and adjustments to the logic you built across multiple programs. Auditing individual records will help you determine why campaigns are misfiring or not triggering at all. Ongoing auditing allows you to make adjustments and improvements to your logic so the system will run with improved accuracy and efficiency.
The following guide will provide insight on how to audit individual records.
1. Once you have determined the record to audit, navigate to the record in the Lead Database, Smart List or Static List.
2. Double click on the record to access the Lead Detail tab.
3. Navigate to the far right tab title Activity Log. This log shows the time-stamped activity throughout the life of the record, including anonymous activity.
4. Next, filter the Activity Log to show only the applicable log entries, depending on what information you need to know.
Search for information several ways.
Utilize the sort feature in column headers:

Use the Filter dropdown found in the top, left corner under the Custom tab. From this menu, choose from out-of-the-box and custom options.

Once you've found the activity and want to drill-down for more information, double-click the entry. Each entry type will have different variables that provide more details on the specific activity selected.
For more details, click on the hyper-linked campaign in the Campaign Name column. This will take you to the campaign responsible for the activity in a different tab.
