Bozeman, Mont., May 4th, 2014 – As a founding member, Elixiter is proud to announce the launch of the Montana High Tech Business Alliance. The Alliance, which was formally announced on Thursday May 1st, 2014, has seven board members, 20 founding firms and recently hired Christina Quick Henderson as Executive Director.
The goal of the Montana High Tech Business Alliance is to accelerate the growth while increasing the global competitiveness and national visibility of Montana’s high-tech industry. The Alliance will plan and host networking events that focus on the successes of the membership firms and create a web-based high-tech jobs portal. The jobs portal will support recruiting employees for Montana jobs and educating the public about high-tech opportunities available in the state.
“Montana high-tech jobs are the best opportunity to increase wages in Montana because high-tech makes the economic pie bigger for everyone and every community can participate,” says Greg Gianforte, organizer of the new Alliance and Chairman of the Board.
High-tech firms are characterized by the manufacturing or selling of high-tech products, providing professional services or consulting related to high-tech, conducting e-commerce, or engaging in manufacturing using skilled labor. The Alliance hopes to bring as many Montana high-tech and manufacturing firms as possible into the Alliance. Membership is available to any for-profit company with operations located in Montana. Firms with 1-4 employees may join free of charge.
The Montana High Tech Business Alliance is actively recruiting new member members. Firms that join prior to the kick-off reception in early June will be regarded as Founding Members. Organizations outside the high-tech industry are also encouraged to join as affiliate members.
“Too often the incredible growth and innovation of Montana’s high-tech companies is a well-kept secret,” said Henderson, the Alliance’s Executive Director. “I am excited to connect our members, shine a bright light on their successes, and help remove obstacles to their growth.”
Most recently, Henderson served as Marketing Director for the University of Montana Bureau of Business and Economic Research. In addition to other duties, she was responsible for organizing the Montana Economic Outlook Seminars. Before serving at the Bureau, Henderson was the Director of the Delta County Economic Development Alliance in Michigan.
Henderson encourages principals of high-tech firms to contact her directly at director@MThightech.org.
