Marketo Filter Definitions

Below are Marketo’s definitions for match criteria when you are creating a Smart List. These are important to know when you are filtering for specific criteria.

Match Criteria Return leads who…
Is Exactly match the field
Is not Do not exactly match the field
Starts with Have a field that starts with the given value
Not starts with Have a field that does not start with the given value
Contains Have the given value anywhere in the field
Not contains Do not have the given value anywhere in the field
Is empty The field has a value
Is not empty The field does not have a value

Below are Marketo’s definitions for time frame options. Be aware if your time frame includes the selected date.

Option Matches events…
Is On the exact date
Is not Anytime except the exact date given
Between Only events between the selected dates
In past Between today and a time in the past (ex. 3 days ago)
In time frame Relative to calendar time (ex. Yesterday)
After After, not including, the selected date
Before Before, not including, the selected date
On or after After and including the selected date
On or before Before and including the selected date
Is empty The field has a value
Is not empty The field does not have a value
